Leibnizufer, Architectural heritage street in Mitte district, Hannover, Germany.
Leibnizufer extends 565 meters along the Leine River, featuring multiple lanes separated by a green median strip through central Hannover.
The street, constructed in 1951 under architect Karl Elkart's direction, required modifications to the Leine River and removal of an area called Klein-Venedig.
The street name honors mathematician Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, connecting Friederikenplatz to Goethestraße while representing mid-20th century urban development principles.
This section of Landesstraße 380 forms part of Hannover's Cityring, providing essential traffic circulation around the downtown area.
The construction process transformed the urban landscape by removing previous bridges and streets, including Ernst-August-Straße and Lange Straße in Calenberger Neustadt.
