Villa Rot, Burgrieden, Art museum in Burgrieden, Germany.
Villa Rot is a museum housed in a classical Art Nouveau building in Burgrieden with a large historical park. The venue presents changing exhibitions of contemporary art from around the world throughout the year.
The building was constructed in 1912 by Raymund Fugger and designed by Balthasar von Hornstein-Grüningen. It became a museum in 1992 when the Hoenes Foundation took over the property.
The collection displays art from Asia and Europe that Hermann and Feodora Hoenes gathered during the 1930s. Visitors encounter sculptures, porcelain, and craft objects from that era.
The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday in the afternoon and on Sundays in the morning. The surrounding park invites visitors to walk around and complements the museum experience.
The estate contains the Hoenessaal, a concert hall named after former resident Herman Hoenes, who performed as a cellist in the Munich Radio Orchestra. This room connects the place's musical heritage with its art collection.
