The land was purchased in 1798 by General Wichard von Möllendorff, who built a manor house and established the initial private gardens.
The park hosts outdoor performances at its amphitheater and provides spaces for community gatherings, sports competitions, and seasonal celebrations throughout the year.
Located between Scheffelstrasse and Möllendorffstrasse, the park offers free entry and remains accessible 24 hours daily via U5 subway line and trams.
The Helenenhügel, a hill formed from post-war debris, transforms into a popular sledding spot during winter months for local residents.
