Stadtpark Lichtenberg, Public park in Lichtenberg, Germany.
Stadtpark Lichtenberg is a green space spanning several hectares that combines sports facilities, a pond, an outdoor performance venue, and art installations among mature trees. The landscape blends open meadows with designed areas, creating distinct zones where visitors can walk, exercise, or simply sit.
The land was acquired in the late 18th century by General Wichard von Möllendorff, who established a manor house and private gardens on the grounds. Over the following decades, the area transformed into a public green space that now defines the character of the neighborhood.
The grounds function as a neighborhood gathering place where outdoor performances and concerts happen regularly throughout the year. Local residents use the open areas for sports, picnics, and seasonal events that shape the rhythm of daily life in the district.
The park sits between Scheffelstrasse and Möllendorffstrasse and is open and free to enter at any time. The U5 subway line and several tram routes serve the location directly, making public transit the easiest way to arrive.
The Helenenhügel, a hill built from rubble after World War II, becomes a popular sledding spot for local families when winter snow arrives. This man-made mound has transformed into an unexpected seasonal destination for winter recreation.
