Martinskirche, Romanesque church in Neckartailfingen, Germany
The Martinskirche stands 27 meters long and 11.80 meters wide, featuring steep interior proportions with a room height of 11.60 meters and stone columns.
Built in 1111, the church received its late Gothic bell tower in 1501, which was constructed at the western facade using local Stubensandstein stone materials.
Medieval frescoes from 1300 decorate the church walls, including a representation of Saint Martin sharing his cloak with a beggar in the choir area.
Regular structural measurements monitor the stability of the bell tower, which leans 1.02 meters west and 82 centimeters south due to underlying soil conditions.
The drainage system installed between 1955 and 1957 helps preserve the foundation of this 900-year-old church, which remains central to community religious activities.
