VEB Meßgerätewerk Quedlinburg, Industrial heritage monument in Quedlinburg, Germany.
VEB Meßgerätewerk Quedlinburg is a factory complex with several industrial buildings from the late 19th century, characterized by brick construction and large window openings. The site includes different production areas that reflect the practical requirements of a manufacturing facility from that era.
The factory originated in 1877 as Steinle & Hartung Maschinen und Armaturenfabrik and initially employed 14 workers producing valves and measuring devices. Under East German administration, it was renamed VEB Meßgerätewerk and manufactured components for various industrial sectors.
The complex displays typical 19th-century industrial architecture with brick buildings and large windows that shaped the working environment of that era. Visitors can see how these structures reflect the importance of manufacturing in Quedlinburg's development.
The site is located at Klopstockweg 10 and is accessible on foot to explore the original structure and layout of a historical production facility. The individual buildings and areas are visible from outside and provide a clear sense of the industrial arrangement.
The complex housed its own foundry and model workshop before 1900, making it a nearly self-sufficient production site. These facilities allowed the factory to manufacture its specialized steam apparatus components entirely on location.
