Schloss Zinnitz, Neoclassical château in Calau, Germany
The two-story castle features symmetrical facades with classical elements, tall windows, and a spacious entrance hall in its central section.
The original structure, built in 1818 by the des Granges family, underwent major modifications between 1864 and 1865 under Prussian finance minister von Patow.
The castle connects to a single-nave church designed by a student of Karl Friedrich Schinkel, with a neo-Romanesque tower added in 1900.
Visitors need to schedule guided tours of the castle and park grounds in advance by contacting architect Robert Scholz at Schulstraße 2.
The castle served multiple functions throughout its history, from a labor camp during World War II to a school during the German Democratic Republic period.
