Schloss Schmarsow, Cultural heritage monument in Kruckow, Germany.
Schloss Schmarsow is a manor house from the late 1600s standing along the main road through the village, now housing spacious holiday apartments and shared guest areas. The property comprises several buildings, including a cavaliers house and gardeners cottage, which together form a complete estate.
The site traces back to 1249 as a knightly seat of the von Maltzahn family. The current manor house was built around the 1690s.
Musicians gather at the castle to perform and rehearse classical and jazz works, drawn by the spaces' excellent acoustic qualities.
The castle offers accommodation in the main building and smaller houses on the grounds for guests planning a longer stay. Visitors should note that the property is sometimes reserved for private events.
The estate includes an electric vehicle charging station powered by solar panel technology. This green addition was supported by European Union regional development funds.
