St. Trinitatis, Hamburg-Altona
St. Trinitatis, Hamburg-Altona, Main Lutheran church in Altona, Germany
The baroque church building features sandstone portals adorned with Danish royal monograms and stands as a central religious structure in Altona-Altstadt.
Built between 1742 and 1743 according to plans by architect Cay Dose, the church replaced an older structure from 1649 during Danish rule.
The church maintains regular musical programs through its ensembles, including the Altonaer Kantorei and Posaunenchor, performing throughout the year.
Located at Kirchenstraße 40, the church offers weekly services and operates various community programs for children, adults, and elderly residents.
The church underwent extensive restoration work from 1954 to 1969 following significant damage during World War II air raids in 1943.
