Tierpark Alsdorfer Weiher, Animal park in Alsdorf, Germany
The Tierpark Alsdorfer Weiher extends across 30 hectares, providing homes for 300 animals representing 30 different species within natural surroundings.
The animal park began operations in 1967 under city director Helmut Eckert's leadership, followed by the establishment of Alsdorfer Tierparkverein support organization in 1969.
The park maintains a petting zoo section where children interact with goats while learning about animal behavior and proper feeding practices.
Visitors can access the park every day from 9:00 to 18:30, with a parking fee of 3 euros that contributes to animal care and facility maintenance.
The facility integrates recreational features including a climbing pyramid, adventure mini-golf, and BBQ boats on the adjacent Kahnweiher lake.
