The Dessau Zoo extends across 11 hectares of parkland, providing habitats for 500 animals from 120 different species among 1000 trees.
The zoo opened its doors in 1958 and incorporates a former mausoleum of the Dukes of Anhalt with its 43-meter-high dome.
This educational facility presents animals primarily from European regions, teaching visitors about different species and their natural environments.
The zoo welcomes visitors every day from 9:00 to 18:00, with admission prices of €3.50 for adults and €1.50 for children up to 16.
The zoo houses Europe's longest reticulated python, measuring nearly 7 meters in length.
