Wöllerstein, Mountain summit in Westhausen, Germany
Wöllerstein is a mountain summit in Westhausen that rises to approximately 723 meters above sea level. From the top, hikers look out over forested hills and valleys that stretch across the surrounding landscape.
The summit received a mountain cross and shelter building in the early 20th century to provide refuge for travelers crossing the area. These structures show how important the peak was to people who moved through this region.
The summit contains a traditional German mountain register where hikers document their ascents and share their experiences with future visitors.
Hikers can reach the summit along a trail of approximately 2.5 kilometers starting from the Holzspitzweg parking area near Simmisweiler. The path goes through forest and fields and works for most skill levels.
The December 2022 Community Celebration Event at Wöllerstein brought together geocaching enthusiasts for a special mountain gathering.
