Stiftskirche St. Peter

Stiftskirche St. Peter is a parish church with two baroque towers rising 60 meters (197 feet) high. Inside, three naves stretch throughout the building with delicate pillar arcades framing the sacred space.

Construction of the current building started in 1479 in Gothic style, though a first parish church in Waldsee existed since 851. This long development shows how deeply Christian tradition runs through this community's history.

The high altar from 1712 depicts the Coronation of Mary and dominates the interior with its grandeur. This elaborate work by Dominikus Zimmermann anchors the church's spiritual purpose and immediately draws visitors' attention upward.

The church remains active and welcomes visitors during services and at other times. It is wise to check ahead, as visiting hours may be limited since this is a working parish church with regular religious activities.

The organ was built in 1964 but incorporates parts from an 1853 instrument. This blend of old and new craftsmanship shows how musical traditions are preserved across generations.
