Forum Domshof, sheltered area with a glass roof on the Domshof square in Bremen, Germany
The Forum Domshof is an architectural structure in downtown Bremen housing a three-story building with restaurants and cafes on the lower levels. The upper floors contain offices, lecture halls, and a library designed to accommodate over 100,000 books with views overlooking the city.
The building was constructed in 1999 following architect Joachim Schürmann's design. During renovation, a historic red brick bank facade and the former bank teller hall were preserved and integrated into the new structure.
The Forum Domshof takes its name from the square where it stands. It serves as a gathering place where students and visitors interact, and its cafes and open spaces create a dynamic meeting point in the center of Bremen.
The building sits centrally on the Domshof square and is easily reached on foot. An underground bicycle parking area with capacity for about 320 bikes makes cycling a practical option for getting there.
The building connects a historic bank chamber, now serving as an event hall, with a modern university function. Since October 2024, various faculties have been moving in, bringing approximately 1,400 students to revitalize the center of Bremen.
