Adam-Stegerwald-Haus

The Adam-Stegerwald-Haus is a three-story building with plastered walls, side projections, and a hipped roof. The newer section includes an open stairwell finished with wood paneling.

The building was originally built as a villa for Philipp II Barthels and became a conference center in 1924. It later gained prominence during Germany's post-war reconstruction period.

After 1945, the building housed lawmakers during important political gatherings that shaped post-war Germany. It served as a meeting place where people worked together on the country's future.

The building underwent extensive renovation in 2021 and now operates as a nursing home in Königswinter's historic center. Visitors should note that it is now a private facility with limited public access.

During the Nazi period, the German Labor Front took control of the building and ran it as a training school from 1933 to 1945. This use connected it to one of the darker chapters in the country's history.
