Tauris

Tauris was a water park in Mülheim-Kärlich with multiple pools designed for different purposes and water temperatures. The facility included a 25-meter sports pool with five lanes, beginner areas, and outdoor pools where visitors could swim in varying water conditions.

The water park opened in the early 1990s and served the local community for more than three decades. It closed on June 30, 2023, ending a long chapter of recreational use in the region.

The facility supported German swimming traditions by offering separate areas where serious swimmers could train alongside recreational visitors. Different pool types meant that people of all skill levels could enjoy the water together.

The facility was large enough to accommodate different activities at the same time, from serious training to casual family swimming. Visitors should allow enough time to explore the different areas and take advantage of moving between different pool types.

The water park featured a 63-meter water slide tower along with other adventure elements like a current channel and water cannons. These attractions made the place especially appealing to children and visitors looking for more than just swimming.
