Harzmuseum Wernigerode

Harzmuseum Wernigerode is a regional museum dedicated to the natural and cultural history of the Harz mountains. The exhibits display minerals, fossils, geological formations, and artworks from the region.

The museum was founded in 1897 as the Fürst-Otto-Museum and moved to its current timber-framed building in 1955. This relocation marked a turning point in how the institution presented regional history and natural science.
