Schloss Kempfenhausen, Architectural heritage monument in Berg, Germany

Schloss Kempfenhausen is a three-story building with a gabled roof and a projecting section on its north side, situated within a garden setting near Lake Starnberg. The structure features stone walls, regular window rows, and traditional Bavarian architectural details that define its appearance.

The castle was built between 1515 and 1520 for Arsatius Barth and ranks among early Renaissance buildings in the region. Over centuries it changed owners multiple times, bringing various renovations and modifications to its structure.

The building displays architectural features from different periods of Bavarian construction, visible in its walls and roof forms. The rooms and gardens function as a record of how noble families lived across centuries and gradually modified their homes.

The property functions as an event venue available for different occasions and gatherings. Visitors should know that interior spaces and gardens require prior arrangement, and the location offers good access from Lake Starnberg.

The property preserves an old fruit orchard and formal gardens with pathways laid out before 1700. A distinctive feature is the circular driveway added in the early 1900s, which gives the grounds a special layout.
