Königliches Kurhaus, Convention center and heritage monument in Bad Reichenhall, Germany
The Königliches Kurhaus is a convention center and architectural heritage monument in Bad Reichenhall featuring five ceremonial halls. Each space showcases marble floors, ornate stucco ceilings, brass fixtures, and grand chandeliers throughout.
The building was designed in 1900 by architect Max Littmann in response to a city fire that occurred in 1834 and required urban reconstruction. This new structure was part of Bad Reichenhall's transformation into a respected spa destination in the early 20th century.
The building reflects Bavaria's royal spa tradition through its grand foyer and ceremonial staircase, immediately transporting visitors into the elegance of the early 20th century. The decoration with marble, stucco, and chandeliers shows how important this venue was for high society gatherings.
The venue accommodates gatherings of up to 600 people across its various halls, with the largest space seating around 500 guests and another holding approximately 180 attendees. The well-maintained interiors work equally well for formal galas and smaller private occasions.
The building underwent comprehensive restoration from 1991 to 1995 that brought back its original architectural details. Modern technical systems were carefully integrated at the same time to make the historic structure suitable for today's events.
