Kindertransport memorial, Bronze sculpture at Dammtor railway station, Hamburg, Germany.
The bronze figures represent children saying farewell to their families before boarding trains during the pre-World War II rescue operations.
Frank Meisler created this memorial in 2015 to commemorate 1,000 Jewish children from Hamburg who were transported to safety in Britain between 1938 and 1939.
The memorial stands as part of a series of five sculptures located in different European cities, marking the journey route of rescued children.
The monument remains accessible throughout the year and includes wheelchair access through the designated pathways near the southern exit of Dammtor station.
The sculptor Frank Meisler personally experienced the Kindertransport as a child, incorporating his firsthand perspective into the memorial's design.
