KomponistenQuartier Hamburg, Classical music museum in Neustadt, Germany
The KomponistenQuartier spans multiple reconstructed merchant houses along Peterstraße, featuring exhibitions dedicated to seven influential German composers.
The museum complex opened in March 2015, starting with the Brahms Museum from 1971 and expanding to include Telemann, Bach, and Hasse sections.
Each museum section presents original instruments, including a square piano used by Brahms, a clavichord preferred by Bach, and a 1730 Hitchcock spinet.
The museum operates Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00, with guided tours available in multiple languages throughout the day.
The complex preserves Hamburg's musical heritage through multimedia exhibits that connect each composer's work to specific locations within the city.
