Ainmillerstraße 22

Ainmillerstraße 22 is a four-story residential structure designed in Art Nouveau style with a colorful facade and sculptural ornaments. The architects Felix Schmidt and Ernst Haiger created the building with curved windows and decorative details that set it apart from neighboring structures.

The house was built during the Art Nouveau movement, when Munich was establishing itself as an art center. It is among the few remaining architectural landmarks on Ainmillerstraße that survived World War II without damage.

The building stands on a street that once drew artists and creative figures who made this quarter their home during Munich's bohemian years. Today, the area still carries this artistic legacy in its character.

The building is centrally located in Schwabing and is easily accessible via tram lines 27 and 28 to Elisabethplatz or by U-Bahn at U2 Josephsplatz and U3/U6 Giselastraße stations. The area is flat and easy to explore on foot, with cafes and shops nearby.

The golden details on the facade create distinctive visual effects when hit by evening sunlight, revealing the craftsmanship of the period. These fine embellishments are subtle from a normal viewing distance but show their true elegance under the right light conditions.
