Amager Strandpark, Beachfront recreational park in Amager Øst, Denmark
Amager Strandpark is a beach park on the eastern side of Amager with a natural lagoon on one side and wide sandy dunes with promenades on the other. The area stretches about 4.6 kilometers and offers different zones for various activities.
The area opened in 2005 following the city's coastal redesign project. This transformation made it a modern recreational space for Copenhagen residents and visitors.
The beach serves as a gathering place where people swim, play sports, and spend time together during warm months. You'll see families, friends, and solo visitors using the water and sandy areas for relaxation and activity.
Five beach stations provide restrooms, food stands, and accessible paths to the water. When you arrive, look around to find the station closest to what you want to do.
Just offshore lies a diving site called 'Sea Witch' built in 2007 with artificial reefs for dive training. Divers practice underwater while other visitors swim above.
