Kastrup Strandpark, Coastal recreational park in Tårnby Municipality, Denmark
Kastrup Strandpark stretches along the eastern shore of Amager with designated swimming areas, playgrounds, grassy expanses, and exercise stations for public use. The layout connects waterfront access with recreational facilities designed for different age groups and activity levels.
The site emerged from reclaimed land created during Kastrup Marina construction, with design by architects Friis & Moltke and landscape architect Erik Mygind. This transformation converted a former industrial waterfront into a modern public recreational space.
The park displays two major sculptures by contemporary Danish artists that frame the waterfront experience. These artworks become focal points where visitors naturally pause and orient themselves while exploring the grounds.
The location offers public toilets, changing facilities, an ice cream stand, and a restaurant overlooking the Øresund strait and Swedish coast. Visitors should check seasonal conditions and varying opening hours before planning their visit.
The Kastrup Sea Bath received an Olympic Committee bronze medal in 2009 for its swimming venue design and accessibility standards. This recognition highlights the site's commitment to inclusive recreation for all visitors.
