Faxe Municipality

Faxe Municipality is an administrative area on Zealand island that incorporates several towns and rural communities. The territory includes Haslev, Faxe, Faxe Ladeplads, and Rønnede, each with distinct local characteristics.

The current administrative structure was created in 2007 through the merger of three separate municipalities: Haslev, Fakse, and Rønnede. This consolidation marked a new phase in local governance.

The area is home to several manor houses such as Gisselfeld and Bregentved that shape the local landscape today. These estates reflect the noble heritage that remains visible throughout the region.

The territory features natural elevation variations with Kobanke as a notable high point, while Gyldenløveshøj stands as a constructed hill that also commands attention. These topographic features shape the visual character of the landscape.
