The manor house features two parallel wings positioned next to the churchyard of Østre Egede Church, displaying refined architectural elements throughout its structure.

Sophie Amalie Moth commissioned modifications to the structure in the late 18th century, working with architects Caspar Frederik Harsdorff and Joseph Christian Lillie.

The National Museum of Denmark recognizes the interior designs of Jomfruens Egede as prime examples of late 18th-century Danish craftsmanship.

Located three kilometers northwest of Faxe town, the estate encompasses over 1300 hectares, with 849 hectares dedicated to agricultural operations.

The name translates to 'Egede of the Lady,' referring to two unmarried noblewomen, Ermegaard and Birgitte Bille, who inherited the estate in 1542.
