Forest Tower, udsigtstårn i Camp Adventure mellem Næstved og Faxe

The Forest Tower is a 45 meter tall steel structure in Faxe Municipality on the Danish island of Zealand, featuring an unusual hourglass shape. The structure has twelve walkable levels and houses three beech trees in its center that were preserved during construction.

The Forest Tower was developed as a modern structure to connect visitors with nature in new ways and expand recreational use of the woodland. The design by architecture firm EFFEKT focused on creating a sophisticated structure that fits respectfully into the landscape.

The Forest Tower takes its name from its location deep in the woods and today serves as a gathering place for nature lovers from the region. The site is used to strengthen the connection between people and the surrounding landscape, drawing families who want to spend time together in nature.

Visits typically begin at an old water mill, from which a 3.2 kilometer walking path leads through the forest to the tower base. The site is designed to be accessible for visitors of various ages and abilities, with benches and rest areas for enjoying the views.

The tower was built with corten steel that develops a warm reddish-brown patina and blends naturally into the forest setting. The walking ramps and surfaces are made from certified oak wood, creating a pleasant tactile experience as visitors ascend and strengthening the connection to nature.
