Vinderslevholm

Vinderslevholm is a manor house situated on a narrow peninsula extending into Hinge Lake in Silkeborg Municipality, separated from the mainland by a water-filled moat. The main building measures approximately 29 meters and displays Late Gothic architectural elements from its medieval origins.

The building was first documented in 1442 and displays Late Gothic elements from its medieval founding period. In the early 20th century, particularly around 1910, the property underwent structural modifications and was renamed.

The name itself reflects its island setting in the lake, which distinguishes it from other manor houses in the region. Visitors can observe the traditional Danish architectural style with its characteristic stepped gables when walking around the building.

The property sits isolated on a peninsula and is best reached by car, though weather conditions in winter months should be considered when planning a visit. The lakeside location offers good views, particularly during afternoon sunlight.

The manor has served as a filming location for Den Store Bagedyst, the Danish baking competition show, making it recognizable to fans of the series. This role as a television backdrop has given the otherwise quiet location cultural visibility in Danish television.
