Sandagergård station, Military listening station on Amager island, Denmark
Sandagergård station is a listening facility on Amager island south of Copenhagen. The site contains two large dome structures housing radio direction-finding equipment designed to intercept electronic signals across the surrounding region.
The facility was established in the 1950s as part of intelligence cooperation between Denmark and the United States. It grew to become a significant monitoring point during Cold War operations and continued operating through subsequent decades.
The station represents Denmark's involvement in international intelligence partnerships, connecting Danish security services with global surveillance networks.
The site is located on Amager southeast of Copenhagen and is not open to the public. From nearby roads, visitors can observe the distinctive dome structures that mark the facility.
The radio domes are notably large to reach distant frequencies and process multiple signal bands simultaneously. This specialized design makes the installation instantly recognizable against the flat landscape of Amager.
