Lynge Drive In Bio, Drive-in movie theater in Allerød Municipality, Denmark
Lynge Drive In Bio is a drive-in theater in Allerød Municipality with three large outdoor screens. The venue displays both classic films and recent releases on its screens from dusk through late evening hours.
The theater was established in 1961 and introduced the drive-in cinema concept to Denmark. It has operated continuously at its original location ever since and represents one of the oldest still-functioning outdoor car cinemas in Northern Europe.
The venue screens films in both Danish dubbed and English versions, serving audiences with different language preferences. This programming reflects a long-standing tradition of offering local and international cinema side by side.
Visitors can order food from their cars by providing a mobile number, and staff delivers items directly to their vehicles. The location sits in a suburban area with ample parking space around the screens for comfortable viewing.
This is the only drive-in theater in Denmark and ranks among the largest of its kind in all of Europe. Its rarity makes it a notable example of a nearly extinct cinema format that has disappeared elsewhere.
