Pärnu Castle, Medieval castle in Pärnu, Estonia
The Red Tower stands as a three-story structure along the Pärnu River, serving as the final remaining defensive tower of New-Pärnu.
Built in the 15th century, the castle initially functioned as a prison with a six-meter-deep cell beneath its four-story construction.
The castle walls represent Estonian medieval architecture through their Gothic design elements and construction techniques from the Hanseatic period.
Located at coordinates 58°23'6"N, 24°30'10"E, visitors can find the castle remains next to the Pärnu Library.
The underground sections of walls remain preserved beneath the surface, providing evidence of the original fortification structure.
