Sillamäe Beach, Sandy beach in Sillamäe, Estonia.
Sillamäe Beach is a sandy shoreline along the Gulf of Finland coast with white sand and multi-level wooden observation platforms. It stretches with walking pathways and includes fountains, playgrounds, sports fields, and exercise equipment throughout its length.
During the Soviet era, this stretch of coast was restricted and closed to the public because of nearby industrial plants. After Estonia regained independence, the area was transformed into an open recreational space for residents.
The beach serves as a gathering place where local residents spend time together and mark their calendar for seasonal events. Outdoor concerts and festivals throughout summer bring the community together along the shoreline.
The beach is easily walkable with good pathways throughout the area, making it accessible for different levels of mobility and interests. Summer months offer the most pleasant conditions for swimming, while the site remains open and enjoyable during other seasons.
The Robinson Bridge crosses the Sõtke River and links the beach to an adventure trail that weaves natural elements into outdoor recreation. This path goes largely unnoticed compared to the main beach area but rewards explorers with a different view of the coastline.
