Port Said Governorate

Port Said Governorate is an administrative region in northeastern Egypt that stretches across both sides of the Suez Canal. The area connects the Mediterranean with Africa and Asia, encompassing several cities with distinct functions in maritime trade and commerce.

The governorate was founded around 1860 as a major port during construction of the Suez Canal. This infrastructure enabled rapid growth and transformed the region into a center of international maritime trade.
