Southern Tomb 25

This tomb features a main pillared hall carved into limestone rock, displaying multiple chambers decorated with hieroglyphic inscriptions and wall reliefs.

Originally designated for Ay during the 18th Dynasty of ancient Egypt, this tomb remained incomplete when Ay became pharaoh and chose burial in the Valley of the Kings.

The tomb walls contain the most complete version of the Great Hymn to the Aten, reflecting the religious transformation under Akhenaten's reign in ancient Egypt.

Access to Southern Tomb 25 requires advance planning and coordination with local authorities due to its location within the protected archaeological zone of Amarna.

Within this tomb, archaeologists discovered what might be the earliest known artistic representation of gloves in ancient Egyptian civilization.
