Pyramid of Neferhetepes, Smooth-sided pyramid in Egypt
The Pyramid of Neferhetepes is a small step pyramid attributed to Neferhetepes, mother of Pharaoh Djedefre.
Built during the 4th dynasty of Egypt, it signifies the continued importance of royal women during this period.
Neferhetepes, whose name means 'Beautiful of her Time', was an important queen consort and priestess.
The remains of the pyramid can be found in Saqqara, near Djoser's famous Step Pyramid.
It originally had a polished Tura limestone casing, which would have made it shine brilliantly under the sun.
