Al-Sahaba Mosque, Modern Islamic mosque in Old Market area, Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
Al-Sahaba Mosque is a modern house of worship in the Old Market area of Sharm el-Sheikh with two tall minarets and a copper-colored dome. The building spans two floors and sits with views of the Red Sea.
Construction started in 2011 and the mosque was inaugurated by the Minister of Religious Affairs in 2017. The project was created to meet the need for prayer space in this growing coastal city.
The mosque displays a blend of Ottoman and Egyptian architectural styles visible throughout its columns and walls. Visitors can see names of the Prophet's companions engraved into the building's structure at many points.
The building has two levels with clear areas for different visitors and separate entrances. Abundant facilities and washing areas are available, which visitors should prepare for before entering.
The facility employs multilingual religious guides who welcome visitors from different faith backgrounds. It also houses a library with resources from Al Azhar, one of the world's most respected Islamic learning centers.
