Metropolis Building, Beaux-Arts office building at Gran Vía and Alcalá Street, Madrid, Spain
The Metropolis Building rises 45 meters high with a slate dome covered in gold leaf and features multiple sculptural sets across its facade.
French architects Jules and Raymond Février designed the structure in 1905 for La Unión y el Fénix insurance company, completing construction in 1911.
The building's dome displays a Victory statue and four statues representing Mining, Agriculture, Industry, and Commerce decorate the main columns.
Visitors can reach the Metropolis Building through Banco de España or Sevilla metro stations on Line 2 of Madrid's underground system.
The structure's dome contains 30,000 leaves of 24-carat gold and requires 205 spotlights to illuminate its architectural details at night.
