Casa Muley Afid

Casa Muley Afid is a three-story residence in the Catalan modernist style, decorated with green glazed tiles, brick details, and sgraffito ornaments framing its window openings. The structure features prominent terraces and a distinctive tower rising from its roofline.

A Moroccan ruler in exile commissioned architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch to design this house in Barcelona in 1911. The project reflects the connection between Morocco and Catalonia during a period of international upheaval.

The house displays decorative elements typical of early 1900s Barcelona taste, with green glazed tiles and ornamental details that reflect the artistic interests of its original owner. These features show how wealthy residents of that era valued both beauty and fine craftsmanship in their homes.

The house is located in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi area and currently serves as a consulate, so public access may be restricted. Its position near the Sarrià and Les Tres Torres FGC stations makes it accessible by public transportation.

Inside the house are murals by artist Opisso depicting leisure scenes from the early 1900s. These artworks offer a glimpse into the lifestyle and entertainments enjoyed by wealthy residents of that era.
