Santa Faz Monastery, Renaissance monastery in Alicante, Spain
The Santa Faz Monastery features a pyramid-shaped dome and incorporates classical architectural forms with symmetrical design elements throughout its structure.
The monastery, constructed between the 15th and 18th centuries, houses a sacred veil brought from the Vatican, believed to contain the image of Christ's face.
The second Thursday after Easter marks a significant pilgrimage when thousands of people walk from central Alicante to the monastery.
The monastery welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Saturday, 8 AM to 1 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM, with reduced hours on Sundays and closure on Mondays.
Behind the main altarpiece, a dedicated chapel preserves the Holy Veil relic, making it a central point for religious veneration and historical interest.
