Jardí Botànic Tropical Pinya de Rosa

The Pinya de Rosa is a botanical garden on the Mediterranean coast that spreads across hilly terrain and houses thousands of plant species. The collection focuses on cacti and succulents from dry regions worldwide, arranged in different sections by origin and type.

A French engineer created this garden in the mid-20th century, bringing together plants from various collections and natural habitats. The project grew into one of Europe's most important collections of these plant types.

The garden's name comes from a local plant species and reflects how succulents fit into the Mediterranean landscape. Visitors encounter plants that grow naturally in this region or have adapted to its warm, dry conditions.

The garden spreads across hills, so comfortable walking shoes and time to stroll are helpful, especially in warm weather. Shaded paths and rest areas are scattered throughout different sections where visitors can take breaks.

The place holds an exceptional collection of Aloe and Agave varieties that bloom in different seasons, offering something to see year-round. Some rare varieties are found nowhere else at this scale anywhere on the European continent.
