Plaza de toros de Alicante, Historical bullring in Alicante, Spain
The Plaza de Toros de Alicante stands as a circular arena with a capacity of 11,000 spectators, featuring traditional Spanish architectural elements and two levels of seating.
Local architect Emilio Jover designed and constructed this bullfighting venue in 1847, which later underwent major renovations by José Guardiola Picó in 1888.
The venue hosts five major bullfights and twenty-three novillos events annually, maintaining Spanish bullfighting traditions while also serving as a concert and entertainment space.
Located at Plaza España 7-8, the bullring provides easy access via bus lines 01, 03, 04, and 24, plus TRAM lines L1 through L4 at the nearby Mercado Central station.
The complex includes one of Spain's earliest dedicated bullfighting museums, displaying exhibits about prominent local matadors and regional bullfighting history.
