Plaza de toros de Alicante

Plaza de Toros de Alicante is a circular arena in Alicante with seating for 11,000 spectators, featuring traditional Spanish architectural design. The structure has two tiers of seating arranged around the interior, creating a complete viewing space from all angles.

Architect Emilio Jover designed and built this arena in 1847 as part of the city's development. A major renovation by José Guardiola Picó in 1888 brought significant structural improvements to the venue.

The name reflects its origins as a fighting arena, and visitors can observe the architecture designed specifically for such spectacles today. The two-tiered seating arrangement served different audience categories, with each level offering its own vantage point.

The complex sits in a central location in the city and can be easily reached by public transportation. Visitors should use the nearby bus stops and tram stations for convenient access.

The grounds include one of Spain's oldest museums dedicated exclusively to bullfighting history. The collection displays exhibits about renowned local matadors and documents the regional fighting tradition.
