The Castle of Montalbán stands on a hill 100 meters above the Torcón River, featuring defensive structures including a moat and semicircular turret.
The Knights Templar constructed this fortress after receiving the land from Alfonso VI, incorporating elements from an earlier Muslim stronghold into their design.
The castle displays characteristic Templar architectural elements, including pentagonal towers, pointed arches, and stonemason inscriptions carved into the stone blocks.
Access to the castle is restricted to Saturdays between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM, with complete closure from February 1st through May 30th annually.
The fortress contains two underground water reservoirs and remains fully intact, without any evidence of historical attacks on its structures.
