Sant Jordi de Treumal, Orthodox church in Calonge i Sant Antoni, Spain
Sant Jordi de Treumal is a church building in Calonge i Sant Antoni, Spain, featuring a circular floor plan and a portico with semicircular arches supported by Tuscan columns. The roof is crowned by a semi-spherical dome covered in green tiles.
The church building was established in 1947 and initially operated under the Diocese of Girona. In 2014 it was acquired by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The interior displays eight semicircular windows with stained glass depictions of saints such as Saint Barbara and Saint Joseph that reflect Orthodox religious tradition. These artworks shape the spiritual character of the space and connect eastern ecclesiastical symbolism with local Catalan craftsmanship.
The building is located at Avenida d'Andorra 21 in Calonge i Sant Antoni, where visitors can easily spot the external architecture with its distinctive green dome. Access is through the main entrance on the south side, with the interior design reflecting the religious traditions of the current congregation.
The interior houses an alabaster sculpture of Saint George created by artist Joan Rebull in 1951 and positioned within the altar area. This work combines local Catalan craftsmanship with Orthodox iconography and represents a notable example of religious sculpture.
