Playa de las Cucharas

Playa de las Cucharas is a wide white sand beach on the eastern coast of Lanzarote that stretches for 640 meters. The shoreline slopes gradually into calm water and is partially protected by rock structures.

Development of the area began in the 1980s when Costa Teguise transformed from a coastal region into a planned tourist destination. This transformation shaped the infrastructure that still exists today.

The beach is connected to local fishing traditions, with fresh catches supplying nearby restaurants and shaping how visitors experience meals by the water. This link between sea and table remains visible in the daily rhythm of the area.

The water in the northern section is protected by rock jetties and offers stable conditions for water sports. Visitors should know this area is often used for windsurfing and may see athletes training or competing.
