Pazo de San Roque

Pazo de San Roque is a manor house featuring crenellated walls, plastered surfaces, and granite ornamentation across its main facade and chapel. The building is set within a large park dotted with mature trees and connected to a circular tower structure via an arched bridge.

The manor was built in 1688 and served as the residence of the Mendez de Sotomayor family for nearly two and a half centuries. Its ownership passed to the Municipal Savings Bank of Vigo in 1925, marking a shift toward public use of the property.

The manor serves as the setting for the San Roque Festival, celebrated on August 16th for generations and drawing crowds from across Vigo. The chapel and grounds remain the focal point of this longstanding local observance.

The manor is located on Rua Filipinas and visitors can access the park year-round, though the building itself opens during special occasions. Planning a visit around these events ensures you can see both the grounds and the interior spaces.
