Iglesia de Santa María, Catholic parish church in Mojácar, Spain.
The church features two square towers constructed with masonry and brick, topped with semicircular arches on the upper section of each tower.
Built in 1560 by stonemason Sebastian Segura, this structure replaced a former mosque and served both religious and defensive functions during the post-Reconquest period.
The church houses religious statues of Saint Augustine and Virgin of Rosary, the two patron saints of Mojácar, representing local religious traditions.
Located in Plaza del Parterre, the church remains open for religious services and contains a single nave covered by barrel vaults supported by square pillars.
The interior displays a large fresco created in the 1980s by German artist Michael Sucker, replacing the original altarpiece lost during the Spanish Civil War.
