Originally documented in 1341, the current structure was built in 1704 after demolishing a previous temple constructed in 1640 over medieval foundations.
The sanctuary holds significant religious services, including an annual pilgrimage on the first Sunday of June and a special mass for brotherhood members in September.
The church complex stands outside Ayerbe's urban center, accessible by car or through a grand staircase leading to its entrance near Losanglis.
The interior walls display numerous religious murals, while the main altarpiece from the 18th century dedicates its artwork to the Virgin Mary.
