Les Sybelles, Ski area in Fontcouverte-la-Toussuire, France
Les Sybelles is a ski area in Fontcouverte-la-Toussuire connecting six mountain resorts with 136 slopes spread across about 6000 hectares. The terrain ranges from 1100 to 2620 meters in elevation and is serviced by around 67 ski lifts.
The ski area was created in 2003 from a local initiative that connected six independent mountain villages into one continuous winter sports network. This merger made it one of the largest linked territories in the French Alps.
The winter season brings traditional Alpine festivals to the linked resorts, where visitors join in torch-lit runs down slopes and regional celebrations. Local cuisine plays a central role in the social rhythm of the skiing community.
Direct slope access is available from accommodation areas, and eight dedicated learning zones help beginners get started. The best time to visit is during the main winter season when snow coverage is most reliable.
The Sybelles Explor Games blends skiing with digital entertainment, letting participants complete mountain-themed tasks as they descend the slopes. This system makes the visit especially engaging for families and younger guests.
