Hôtel Amelot de Bisseuil, Private mansion in Quartier Saint-Gervais, France
The baroque mansion at 47 Rue Vieille-du-Temple features two distinct courtyards with grand facades adorned with sculptural representations of virtues.
Architect Pierre Cottard designed this residence between 1657 and 1660 for Denis Amelot de Chaillou, replacing the previous Hôtel de Rieux.
The interior contains a gallery dedicated to Psyche with a ceiling painting of the Apotheosis by Michel Corneille l'Ancien and 18th-century decorations.
Located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, the 1,718-square-meter property received extensive restoration work following its 2010 purchase for 38 million euros.
Writer Beaumarchais composed Le Mariage de Figaro while residing in this mansion, which later served as headquarters for the Paul-Louis-Weiller Foundation.
