Vajradhara-Ling, Buddhist temple in Aubry-le-Panthou, France

Vajradhara-Ling is a Buddhist center situated on spacious grounds in Normandy with a 23-meter tall stupa as its main structure. The property also features a large prayer wheel filled with about 100,000 printed mantras that visitors can spin.

The center was founded in 1982 by Kalu Rinpoche and grew into an important location for Buddhist teachings. In 2008, the 14th Dalai Lama visited to consecrate land for a future Temple for Peace.

This place belongs to a Tibetan Buddhist school and welcomes people interested in meditation practice and spiritual learning. You can see how the grounds are used for ceremonies and gatherings throughout the year.

The grounds remain open year-round and can generally be visited without charge. Guided tours are available upon request, and the site also schedules periods for meditation stays.

The center operates a separate retreat facility called Mahamoudra-Ling about 60 kilometers away for intensive long-term practice. This secluded location is specifically designed for stays ranging from six months to one year.
