Oratoire Saint-Roch de Bastia, Religious oratory in Terra Vechja district, Bastia, France.
The oratory displays a neoclassical facade with four columns supporting a triangular pediment, featuring a white marble portal crowned by a pilgrim shell.
The construction of the current building began in 1604 after the collapse of the previous structure, which was initially built following the 1569 plague epidemic.
The interior walls are covered in red silk damask, following Genoese traditions, while gilt stucco decorations from 1617 adorn the space created by Francesco Marengo.
The religious monument opens for visits upon request and hosts annual celebrations every August 16th with a mass and street procession through Bastia.
The main altar features a 1692 altarpiece crafted in Bastia, alongside a 17th-century painting by Florentine artist Giovanni Bilivert, restored in 2016.
